Offered for sale is an exceptionally well-preserved Zenith Defy A3642, one of the earliest examples of Zenith’s legendary “Bank Vault” sports watch, introduced in 1969. Its radical 37 mm octagonal case, distinctive 14-sided bezel, champagne dial and robust construction made the original Defy one of the most forward-looking Swiss sports watches of its era.
Presented in very good vintage condition and true unpolished, the case retains remarkably sharp edges and clearly visible original factory finishing. The champagne dial remains in very good condition, complete with its characteristic orange accent on the seconds hand. All parts are original, including the mineral crystal and crown.
The watch is fitted with its highly collectible original Gay Frères ladder bracelet, in very good condition and suitable for wrists up to approximately 20.5 cm. The clasp is stamped “3/70”, dating its manufacture to the third quarter of 1970. It comes with the Original Outer Box, Original Presentation Box, PW Certificate of Authenticity and PW Service Certificate Card.
Fully serviced by our in-house Swiss-certified watchmaker on 22.10.2026, it houses the automatic Calibre 2552PC with an unusual period-correct Movado-signed rotor, reflecting the historic Zenith–Movado partnership of this era.
A highly original, sharply preserved and unusually complete early Defy with strong collector appeal.
Every timepiece from PASHA WATCHES is backed by our commitment to quality and authenticity. We provide a one-year limited warranty on all pre-owned watches and a six-month limited warranty on vintage timepieces (over 25 years old).
Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. It does not cover water or moisture damage, natural wear and tear, accidental damage, or issues caused by misuse or improper handling. The warranty also excludes external components such as the bracelet, glass, dial, hands, pushers, crown, and bezel, as well as any work performed by unauthorized service providers.
While we take every measure to ensure reliability, water resistance is not guaranteed on vintage watches, unless explicitly stated in writing.
Every PASHA WATCHES timepiece is inspected, tested, and prepared by our certified watchmaker — ensuring lasting precision, authenticity, and peace of mind with your purchase.

Founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot in Le Locle, Switzerland, Zenith has always stood at the forefront of Swiss watchmaking excellence. Driven by a vision to unite every watchmaking craft under one roof — a revolutionary idea at the time — Zenith became one of the first true manufactures in the history of horology. For over 150 years, the brand has embodied innovation, precision, and bold design, creating timepieces that celebrate both technical mastery and pioneering spirit.
Zenith’s greatest breakthrough came in 1969 with the creation of the El Primero — the world’s first automatic high-frequency chronograph movement, beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour for unmatched accuracy. This revolutionary calibre set a new standard in precision and continues to power many of Zenith’s most iconic watches today. The Chronomaster line proudly carries this legacy, showcasing open-heart dials and advanced versions of the El Primero movement. The Defy collection represents Zenith’s modern vision — combining futuristic design with cutting-edge materials and movements, including the Defy Inventor and Defy Skyline.
Zenith’s watches have accompanied pioneers and dreamers alike — from Louis Blériot, who wore a Zenith when making the first flight across the English Channel in 1909, to contemporary explorers who push the limits of human achievement.
To own a Zenith is to embrace the spirit of innovation, precision, and courage. Each timepiece captures the essence of a brand that has never stopped reaching for the stars — fittingly named after the highest point in the sky. For those who dare to dream and demand excellence, Zenith is more than a watch — it is a testament to progress, passion, and the art of perfect timing.
